Description
Payu is the experiment workflow manager used for several ACCESS models (e.g. esm1.5/1.6, om2 and om3), and provides the same interface and general concept to those models. A page with general Payu instructions is needed.
Why
There is duplication across the :
pages on payu features, including:
- restart pruning
- starting from a user specified restart file
- syncing data to /g/data
Combing these and adding a payu specific page also allows better coverage of features, including
- non-standard cloning (e.g. from a git tag or git commit)
- forking experiments
- definitions (e.g. whats a run vs an experiment vs a configuration ?)
- provenance
- (+others i haven't thought of I am sure)
The best current coverage of these topics is probably @aidanheerdegen 's "Running Model Experiments with payu and git" instructions from workshop 24
