At the first installation, it is impossible to install clip

Man, that pip error is a total pain. Looks like the venv is tripping over the git zip download during the clip install. I had the same thing happening on my rig until I swapped in this custom install script that bypasses the direct github link and pulls the wheel instead. clip_fix_v1.zip

Yes it is, but the principle still applies, manually clone the clip dependacy directly into the bin, so that when it checks for it, it will see that it already installed, thus allowing you to continue.

You can just clone clip into your download, and use the pip from the venv to Install it from the local source.

So step 1: clone clip to the current directory

git clone https://github.com/openai/CLIP.git

Step 2: install clip using these local files

G:\stable-diffusion-webui\venv\Scripts\pip.exe install ./CLIP

Step 3: run the installer again

i had the same problem, after editing the webui-user.bat and added the following lines after "@echo off" the install runs fine.

Edit: Didn't notice this was a post form a windows user, my apologies. The commands below should still be relevant though, besides entering the venv, which differs.

Easy fix is just to install it yourself manually. The program doesn't need to try and install it if it's already there.
The following worked for me on Debian 13 with Python3.10.20 (compiled from source)

source venv/bin/python
python -m pip install --upgrade --force-reinstall "setuptools<82" wheel
python -m pip install --no-build-isolation {ARCHIVE LINK} --prefer-binary

The script itself tries to run python -m pip install {ARCHIVE LINK} --prefer-binary and fails because the isolated env does not contain the pkg_resources package wheras your general venv does.

Second part of edit:
Assumed windows commands for your dirs:

python -m pip install --upgrade --force-reinstall "setuptools<82" wheel
