AXIOM — Growth & Engagement Strategy 🚀

Comprehensive strategy to maximize GitHub stars, contributor adoption, community engagement, and social virality within 1–3 months.

1. Gamification System Design

6. A/B Testing Framework

6.1 README Variations

Test these README hooks and measure star conversion (visitors → stars):

7. Pivot Strategies

If engagement is low after 2 weeks, execute these in order:

7.1 Low Stars (< 20 after 2 weeks)

  • Post in 5 more subreddits (r/webdev, r/javascript, r/reactjs, r/node)
  • Create a 60-second demo video for Twitter
  • Tag prominent developer educators on Twitter
  • Submit to ProductHunt
  • Cross-post article to Medium + Hashnode

7.2 Low Contributions (0 PRs after 2 weeks)

  • Create 10 more "good first issue" labels with detailed descriptions
  • Write step-by-step "Your First PR" tutorial as Discussion post
  • DM developer communities on Discord: Reactiflux, The Coding Den
  • Offer public recognition: "Every contributor gets mentioned in README"

7.3 Low Retention (visitors leave immediately)

  • Add interactive demo GIF at top of README
  • Simplify quick start to 3-command maximum
  • Add "Try it now" button linking directly to live demo

7.4 High Traffic, Low Conversion (visitors but no stars)

  • Add "If this helps you, consider starring ⭐" badge
  • Show social proof: "Used by X students from Y universities"
  • Add testimonials section to README
  • Create a "Why you should star" section highlighting value
