Sync or timing requirement for lookup fields

Is there some sort of timing or syncing requirement with respect to lookup fields? I am trying to add a lookup that is a newly created radio button field. I can clearly see the old ones in the system and can't see my new one. If I need to wait for an hour or something like that, it would be great to put the wait time in the documentation! thank you

just wanted to verify I went to sleep and when I woke up the next morning the field was available to be picked. I still need exact timing though as I have offshore resources who couldn't pick a field in fusion this morning and now we're trying to figure out the timing on that (assuming it will be the same as the timing on the lookups)

I am so sorry for the delay here. So, are you asking if when you create a lookup/ custom field, there is a lag time between when you actually create it and when you can add it as a lookup field for a record connection?

If yes, I can try to find out and will include it in the docs. But let me know if I understood correctly. Thanks!

@alinaw-adobe --long time no see. Yes, that's correct. If I create a custom field XYZ in record type ABC, and, on the same day I connect that record type ABC to record type DEF, I cannot access XYZ as a lookup in DEF until the following morning.

this also appears to be true in fusion (although I don't know where that documentation lives) -- I cannot access XYZ until the following morning. (I'm in pacific time)

not tested -- whether or not planning fields are available in canvas dashboards immediately after creation.

if you discover there's some sort of scheduled "push" to fusion / canvas / planning it would be great to sync up the documentation in all three areas.

Hello, again - I know: long time! Something went crazy with the Git repo for me and I was not getting notifications for issues, so I missed your questions. All fixed now.

SO, about the lookup fields: I have talked to several PMs and engineers and they all said you should see them immediately and they should sync immediately to Fusion and/ or Canvas, or elsewhere you'd expect them. I tested this on my Planning in Prod and I see them immediately in both Planning and Canvas.

So, can you please log a ticket with Support? They all asked that someone needs to investigate your environment more closely to know what's going on. But the expectation should be that they should be available instantly.

I won't change the docs, since there is no specific time to mention, but please log a ticket with Support.
