❓ Question: Error When Restarting CSF

Question

Hi, I tried to restart cfs with: "csf -r" and got the following errors:

Error The path to iptables is either not set or incorrect for IPTABLES [] in /etc/csf/csf.conf at /usr/local/csf/lib/ConfigServer/URLGet.pm line 47.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/sbin/csf line 41.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/sbin/csf line 41.

Is this normal? Do I need to flush something?

Also, if I run "service lfd restart" I get the following error:

Now, I got an email saying that lfd recovered. So, I run "csf -r" again and got this:

lfd will restart csf within the next 5 seconds
WARNING Binary location for [CHATTR] [/usr/bin/chattr] in /etc/csf/csf.conf is either incorrect, is not installed or is not executable
WARNING Missing or incorrect binary locations will break csf and lfd functionality

When CSF tries to upgrade, I get this email message:

Let me run some tests.

Question, are you running the latest released version, or are you getting from the repo using git clone

I let it do the auto update. I haven't tried to update it myself. I also am having some cPanel issues but I'm not sure if it's related or not, yet. They are still working on it.

The last error I got was about 45 minutes ago while it was trying to update again:

I was getting them about once an hour but since my cPanel provider was working on it today, I've only got one or 2 today.

I don't suppose you have actual access to root for the box cpanel is installed on, have you tried wget to download.configserver.dev or to query the subdomain and see if you get a valid result?

I have done all checks, it looks to have some firewall restrictions.

Is their possibly a way I could get a temp account to this box so that I can take a look? May be easier, because you have a few things going on.

If so, you can email me the info at aetherinox[at]proton[dot]me.

I want to be able to start/stop lfd / csf, Run basics like curl / wget, and at least get an idea of what we're possibly looking at, including iptables.

Then if worst-case scenario, I can set up a test bench using the same distro you are, and install it on my own system.
