How to use in Katana?

I have gone through your plugin and very much pleased for such a nice workflow. I want to use the same thing in Katana. Please can you provide necessary docs for implementing the plugin inside katana.

First of all thanks for a quick reply. The docs suggested by you are quite useful.
I have gone through it and have some questions.

Can we use the windows prebuild provided by you for implementing plugin in katana? If yes than what are the steps to produce that.

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/hfs20.5.445/dsolib

Which paths the above variable refer to?

One more thing that if building from scratch is required then can you please provide proper way to build the plugin or help me in developing the plugin as I don't have dedicated developer to work on it.

Hi,

I tried building the plugin and set the environment path for Katana. After that I tried to render sample scene in Katana and got stuck on the following error.

D02001 {WARNING} TgPathDLOpen: Bad DSO found: oceanSampleLayers (The operation completed successfully.) S10002 {ERROR} Could not load pattern plugin "oceanSampleLayers" from the plugin path "C:\Users\Dev\Documents\houdini20.5\packages\hGeoPattern\hGeoPatterns\rixplugins:C:\Program Files\Pixar\RenderManProServer-26.3\lib\plugins" or the shader path "C:/Users/Dev/Documents/houdini20.5/packages/hGeoPattern/hGeoPatterns/shaders:C:/Program Files/Pixar/RenderManProServer-26.3/lib/shaders". (System Error: No such file or directory)

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to run it on Katana/Windows properly.
One thing I found is a clash of zlib1.dll (Houdini is using a slightly newer version, so I replaced Pixars one with it)
$HFS/bin/zlib1.dll -> $RMANTREE/lib/3rdparty/zlib1.dll
Most plugins always end up with a non-zero exit code after a successful render in Katana's RenderBoot.

But OceanSampleLayers is crashing immediately, I think it's connected with the SIMD execution of VEX.

The problem I think, is clashing with Katana libraries since rendering .rib files exported from Katana with standalone prman is fine.
