Deactivate SaneBreak on certain days/hours

I don't always want to have Sanebreak active, for example at the end of the day when i'm using it to watch films or when young relatives want to play game son the computer during week-ends.
Being able to set SaneBreak to work only on certain days/times of day would allow this behavior.

Alternatively, this would also suit some cases in which users have meetings at the samt time of day every day/week !

I'm adding experimental CLI control for sane-break at https://github.com/AllanChain/sane-break/tree/refs/heads/feat/cli-control.

Basically you need an external program to handle your custom needs and run commands like sane-break pause and sane-break enable-breaks to control the running instance of Sane Break.

I'm not using such programs at all, would it be possible to include it right in the app ?

Sorry, but supporting pausing the app at specific time ranges will benefit a limited number of users while having to add a set of calendar management capabilities into this break reminder app, such as recursions and holidays, to name a few.

Nowadays, LLMs are very good at coding these small scripts. You can just ask LLMs to create a simple script to run the CLI commands at your specified time. This is the most flexible solution and will benefit more users.

Before assuming this would not benefit most users, let's give this suggestion some time to gather contributions and feedback to see if it actually would or not.

I also find it very dismissive to tell me to use LLMs to write a script for me. Of course i could ask my digital slaves for anything, but as you might have understood from my presence here, my continuous comments, suggestions, advice, general feedback and encouragements, i prefer collaborating to improve our common tools.

Sure. Pausing at specific times is probably acceptable, but pausing on specific days is more difficult to achieve nicely than your initial thought, because different countries have different holidays, the user may want to adjust the schedule today/tomorrow/next week, the user may abuse this feature, etc.

Being able to pause SaneBreak at specific times of day would actually cover most of my own use cases ! I added days of the week into the mix as i thought this would also serve for people with clear work days schedules (which is not my case), but i understand this is very complex work that is probably out of scope.

As for being able to abuse this feature : yes, as any other customization option SaneBreak offers. We still have to trust the user with their own desire to take regular breaks, which i agree, still needs to be properly labeled so as to not aimlessly tempt users.
