[BUG] - Atlas breaks AMD chipset drivers installer

• I am on the latest version of Atlas, and didn't do an unsupported upgrade

Description

I've been unable to update my AMD chipset drivers for weeks now, I tried different versions from both my motherboard's website and AMD's to no avail. The online installer is always stuck at 64%, the offline installer fails with "This installer is intended to be deployed only on an AMD system"

Yes, I checked everywhere and I had VBScript support installed and enabled, I tried uninstalling and installing it too, this is the main cause for most people, but I thought it could be Atlas, so installed Windows 11 vanilla without preserving my apps and it finally worked, so Atlas OS has probably something to do with this.

Steps to reproduce

1. Download the chipset drivers from AMD's website: https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html (Click "Download Windows drivers" for the online installer, or select your motherboard from the list below for the offline installer)
2. Try to install it

This should be looked into, as these are one of the most important drivers you can install, it impacts stability, and performance on both games and general tasks.

I have a feeling that Atlas installs a different AMD Chipset driver, causing the official AMD installer from AMD.com to no longer recognize your system.

I want to re-install my own 5700X3D/6900XT system next week, to see what happens...

Works for me on my 5900X chipset for X570. Maybe the issue is with your windows installation and not with Atlas.

This was my thought....

However, on my system, there are no errors whatsoever.

I'm not sure, I'd love to confirm but I have no clue, I tried everything you can think of including checking for OS corruption, I couldn't find anything specific from my installation. The only plausible difference I can think of is Atlas, let's see if more people can install the latest driver for AMD on Atlas before closing the issue.

I haven't done a re-install, yet.

Would like to test it out for you guys, but haven't got the time to make some proper back-ups and start again fresh. Maybe this weekend..

If you guys mean that installing drivers through AME wizard is causing the issue, then this is not related to AtlasOS and you should take this to them

No, in fact, I didn’t even install drivers through the Wizard. I opened this issue because Atlas OS makes extensive changes to Windows, and I suspected one of the changes is breaking the AMD chipset driver installer.

This issue should be reopened, can reproduce on a fresh AtlasOS install with Ryzen 7 9800x3d

OK, I tried to reopen it but I don't have permission... If you find a solution, it would be greatly appreciated, I'd like to install Atlas again and try.

I still don't believe Atlas would cause this, it works on my end and we don't touch anything driver related
