Shall we be using the latest stable release, from 2023, or just the git version?

Can this be made explicit? For example by removing releases and tags, or just leaving a note?

From my perspective releases are only useful if the software takes long to build. For the rest it's just better to use git.

Tags would still be nice, most distro packagers aren't going to package without a version tag.

Why?

In my distro, Zenned, I just use epoch of latest commit.
