Checked Map into Version Control, Switched Systems and now the map is corrupt

Hello,

I have created a TTRPG Map for my players using your tool. Due to unforseen circumstances, the Windows System where I originally saved the map is lost to time.
Fortunately, I checked the map into version control (thank you for it being plain text) and synced it with my new device with a Linux Operating System.

Unfortunately I cannot import my versioned map into the Fantasy Map generator and work on it.
I don't know how to help myself here.

What version of FMG is your map from?

If it's from a very old version, instead of upgrading it from the old version to the latest version in one step, try doing it in stages. Older versions of FMG are available on GitHub.

Once you have one of these older versions of the executable FMG, try loading your map in a slightly newer version, save that one, and then load it in a newer version of FMG.

This is the tip I came up with.

@Chenjox, known problem. Some tool change the line end symbols and it messes up the required format of the file. You can search for similar issues there. The solution would be to restore correct symbols using correct file as a example. Not an esy task as I don't have a script or something to do it.

Is there a spec of the file format?

Depending on the line end symbols sounds very problematic for me (alas, I do not know the tooling for JavaScript).
Can I somehow find out WHERE line end symbols need to be input? And also which one (LF, CRLF, CR) in which encoding of the file (ANSI, UTF8 or something else entirely)?

That's not JavaScript-related. You can find the correct format if you download a fresh .map file from the tool. I don't really remember the details, I fixed a lot of issues like that in Notepad++, but it was years ago.

@Chenjox If I remember these issues correctly it was that the data part of the map file is split by lf (\n) and the svg part of the file by cr lf (\r\n). You would need to check if your file follows this structure
