cert.digest("sha1") generates a thumbprint like b'D4:53:17:08:AB:19:42:55:30:0A:EB:65:60:54:0F:77:6E:E9:CE:34'.

x509_cert.fingerprint(hashes.SHA1()) generates a thumbprint like b'\xd4S\x17\x08\xab\x19BU0\n\xebe`T\x0fwn\xe9\xce4'.
