Job board

What

Sometimes we hear about job opportunities. Sometimes we are looking. This feature offers a barebones list of enough information to get the conversation started.

Why

Beer && Code is a community. Ideally, we can take care of our own. Moreover, networking and personal connections are a great way to accelerate the job and employee search. This should be a good way to put our community to use for good.

How

The job opportunities list entries should be

• the job
• the location
• the requirements
• some contact information to follow up

The job seeking list entries should be

• the kind of work (full-time, contract, freelance)
• a general location (Capitol Hill, Anywhere in Seattle, Burien)
• the skills you bring to the table (PHP dev, super good at MySQL)
• a link to a resume or site

Open Issues

How do we maintain this? Who is guaranteeing that job posts are taken down after they are filled, or that people come back to clean out their job searches when they get a job?

Perhaps we make some policy that says posts only live 1-3 months and then are automatically expunged.
