New MatchType "AI Optimized" not supported

For one of our customers the keyword performance report returned "AI Optimized" for a match type. This value is not defined at com.microsoft.bingads.v13.campaignmanagement.MatchType.

There had been a release that did not fix this. Why?

Hi, we don't expose this value in CampaignManagement API. It's only exposed in Reporting API and UI, you can see all performances data associated with it.

Thanks for the clarification. Though it is a bit unfortunate to have no enum for valid reporting values, that makes working with them in code harder. Or is there another enum that I missed? We assumed that reporting is compatible with campaign management before.

I’d like to understand why this makes it harder to work in code. Could you please elaborate on your use case so that we can internally discuss whether there’s room for optimization?

Sure, we parse the reports to evaluate them. To make decisions based on such values would otherwise require defining String constants in our code that may deprecate without us noticing it. Another point is that it is always good to know all valid (enum) values so that we can cover all cases, e.g. to explicitly handle new ones. Furthermore, we compress our database by mapping them to reduced values, e.g. EXACT → e.

All of this can be done with String constants on our side. But it is IMO the purpose of your library to provide the full "knowledge" about your API so that it can be used easily.
