Set Up a Table for the Table Manager

The BriargateExcel table manager depends on properly setting up the Excel table.

  1. Put the data into an Excel table structure
  2. Unlock any columns where the user can edit the data
  3. Set up data validation as desired for the editable columns
  4. Set up the Excel file Table Setup

Unlock the Columns

  1. Select the editable columns of the table
  2. press Ctl-1 to bring up the cell format menu
  3. Select the Protection tab in the cell format menu
  4. Uncheck the Locked check box (Check the box for non-editable columns)

Set Up Data Validation

  1. Select the column where you want to set data validation
  2. Go to the Data tab (red dashed oval in the picture)
  3. Select Data Validation (red dashed circle in the picture)
  4. Define the data validation parameters for this column
