[Mod bug] MAS crashes with error stating 'No module named 'cPickle''

Describe the bug
after choosing to run with MAS, the game refuses to open and returns a traceback stating: No module named 'cPickle'

To Reproduce
add MAS files to mod folder in game directory.
open DDMD
select MAS
open DDMD again

Expected behavior
DDMD will crash with this error:

While loading the script.
File "game/0utils.rpy", line 40, in
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cPickle'
