It turns out Cap can’t access my physical webcam directly (was using a canon camera as a webcam), because it behaves like a virtual camera. The workaround was to route my webcam through OBS Studio and then enable OBS Virtual Camera. After selecting the OBS Virtual Camera inside Cap, everything worked perfectly, no more crashes.
