Thanks for reporting this with the video. The issue you're describing (screen content updates lagging behind cursor position) could be related to a few areas:

• #453 tracks a similar cursor positioning issue for area recordings, currently assigned to @Brendonovich
• PR #1475 (merged) improved audio-video synchronization with tighter drift thresholds
• PR #1596 (open) is actively working on playback performance and frame transport/ordering improvements

Relevant code areas:

On macOS, screen capture uses scap-screencapturekit via crates/recording/src/sources/screen_capture/macos.rs. The cursor position handling is in crates/cursor-capture/src/position.rs. The cursor is captured separately from the screen frames and timestamped using cm::Clock::convert_host_time_to_sys_units. A timing mismatch between when the cursor position is sampled versus when the screen frame is captured could explain the lag you're seeing.

Helpful information for debugging:

• What operating system and version are you running?
• Does this happen when recording full screen or just specific areas/windows?
• Does the lag appear in the preview while recording, or only in the final exported video?
• Does the issue occur with all web pages or specific content (e.g., pages with heavy animations or scrolling)?

The frame transport system has configurable buffer sizes via environment variables (CAP_SCREEN_BUFFER_SIZE, CAP_MAX_QUEUE_DEPTH) that could potentially help if this is a buffering issue.
