nodejs-whisper was a great start, thank you @ChetanXpro 🙇

At the same time, it has not been updated for 7 months, which is questionable during the LLM hype, also from the open source community.
I do understand, LLM models are downloaded from other sources, although accuracy of captions have dropped and so, language detection as well.

This makes me wonder whether this repository, nodejs-whisper, is still maintained, observed and improved for the Open-Source Community?

For example, when you check out new libraries like this one, @remotion/install-whisper-cpp, I'm like taking a step back and double check with you all here ✌️

Hey @binarykitchen Thanks for the kind words, and fair question.

Yes, this project is still maintained. It had a quiet period, but I’m catching up now on issues/PRs around Windows support, custom model paths, Docker caching, and CI reliability.

Accuracy and language detection mostly comes from the upstream model and whisper.cpp, since this package is a Node wrapper around it. But keeping the wrapper, builds, docs, and platform support healthy is still on me.

I’ll also review newer projects like @remotion/install-whisper-cpp and see what improvements make sense here.
