[2025.02.13-x86_64.iso] Broken ACPI on Atari VCS

I remember having no problems running the latest (unstable) ChimeraOS on my Atari VCS and that worked fine for possibly years.

A couple of months ago, my console wouldn't shut down; it instead immediately restarted. Activating sleep mode also proves a failure (Even though I am not sure I have ever used it...) as it returns to the GamePadUI immediately after "sleep" mode is on.

The reason I am now reporting this is because I have downloaded the latest .ISO and used it to repair my installation. Sadly fixing none of my problems.

How would I troubleshoot that from Chimera?

Following your feedback, I have done the following:

1. Tested ACPI (Shutdown+sleep/hibernate) on Atari OS and works as designed = OK;
2. Repair my chimeraos install = same problem (KO);
3. Reinstall(clean) = same problem (KO);

As a reminder, this always used to work fine on chimeraos until late 2024ish

There hasn't been a new release of chimeraos for more than a year. One was planned for end 2025/early 2026 but it was postponed to use OGC kernel.

Meaning none of us maintainer did anything. The problem is either to be found in steam or in how the console is configured... Have you changed something perhaps in bios?

Thanks for your update.

The reasons I do not think it's the console are:

1. Uing the same BIOS as when it was last work
2. Last BIOS update goes back to 2022ish
3. ACPI(sleep or poweroff) works well when invoked from another OS

Is there a scheduled release date for the OGC kernel release that was finally agreed upon?

It is with great pleasure that I confirm it's now been fixed with today's Steam release. Thanks to all the contributors for the amazing work that you put into this project. You make the difference <3

I have the displeasure of reopening this issue as, it seems, that the April 2nd steam upgrade as reintroduced that bug.

Now facing the same exact issue following a full reinstall and a jump on the unstable/dev branch.
