As far as I tested in the fork, this is exactly what will conveniently allow you to have and maintain lock files.
Exporting dependencies to
pylock.tomlis done for the future, because althoughpipsupports creating this file, it apparently cannot install from there at the moment.Also
uvandpipcreate a filepylock.tomlwith very different content - from the comparison, I liked the file created byuvmore - becausepipcreates a currently unusable file tied to a specific version of Python, whileuvcreates something closer to thepoetryformat.From what I tested, these hooks are automatically called only if there were updates in
pyproject.toml- and they updateuv.lock&pylock.toml
