The dhclient program has been discontinued for a while already (https://www.isc.org/blogs/dhcp-client-relay-eom/)
Debian 13 has flag it as deprecated (https://packages.debian.org/trixie/isc-dhcp-client)
they list a few alternatives here: https://wiki.debian.org/DHCP_Client
Debian's ifupdown (https://packages.debian.org/unstable/ifupdown) now supports dhcpcd
maybe it could be a nice alternative for ifupdown2 too.
I understand that a DHCP client doesn't undergo much changes and that the current last version will continue working for quite a while.
But nevertheless it would be wise to get a few alternatives or at the very least be aware of the thing.
I have search for both open and closed issues and haven't seen any mentioning this info. So i'm creating it myself.
