+On **May 8**, R/AI hosted the Spring 2026 [#RAIforUkraine](https://airesponsibly.net/RAIforUkraine/) Project Showcase, bringing together research fellows, mentors, partners, and supporters from across 12 countries. Eleven teams presented research projects spanning our core themes—algorithmic fairness, interpretability, privacy, data management for ML, and evaluation—alongside emerging directions such as multilingual misinformation detection, AI-powered species identification in underwater imagery, and physics-informed generative AI for the design of next-generation catalysts.

+The showcase highlighted the progress made over the semester, with presentations covering both current results and publications they aim to pursue. Collectively, these projects reflected one of the most diverse portfolios we have seen to date. A select group of students demonstrating strong progress or particularly promising results will continue their work in Summer 2026 with support from program stipends.
