How to Play Mythril

Mythril is a job-based incremental RPG where you manage a party of characters, unlock powerful abilities (Cadences), and tactically manage stats through Junctioning.

🕹️ Core Gameplay Loop

Characters & Stats

You control multiple characters, each with four primary stats:

  • Strength (STR): Influences gathering and combat task duration.
  • Vitality (VIT): Influences physical endurance and survival tasks.
  • Magic (MAG): Influences research and refinement speed.
  • Speed (SPD): Influences exploration and movement tasks.

Quests & Tasks

  • Starting Tasks: Drag a Quest card from the Locations tab onto a character to start it.
  • Task Types:
    • Single: One-time story quests that unlock new content.
    • Recurring: Repeatable tasks for farming resources.
    • Unlock: Special tasks that grant permanent access to new systems or locations.
  • Duration: High stats relevant to a task will reduce its completion time.

The Workshop (Refinement)

Once you unlock refinement abilities, you can use the Workshop to turn raw materials (like Iron Ore or Moonberries) into refined magic (like Fire I or Life I). These are essential for Junctioning.

Junctioning Magic

Junctioning allows you to assign refined magic to your character's stats for significant bonuses.

  • Tactile Junctioning: Drag magic items directly from your Inventory onto a character's stat badge (e.g., S for Strength).
  • Stat Preview: While dragging, you will see a preview of how the stat will change (↑ for increase, ↓ for decrease).
  • Removal: Use the "Link Off" icon on the character display to enter Removal Mode, then click any junctioned stat to clear it.
  • Limits: Stats are capped at a maximum of 255.

Cadence Completion

Similarly, you can track your research progress for each job in the Cadence tab. The counter shows how many abilities you have unlocked out of the total available for that Cadence. A green checkmark indicates you have mastered that job!

The Journal

The Journal tab provides a historical log of your party's recent activities.

  • Task Tracking: It records the last 50 completed quests, refinements, and cadence unlocks.
  • Details: Each entry shows which character completed the task, what was achieved (e.g., rewards gained), and the exact time of completion.
  • Persistence: Your journal history is saved automatically and persists across sessions.

💡 Tips for Success

  • Specialization: Differentiate your characters! Give one high Magic for fast research and another high Strength for resource farming.
  • Task Sorting: In the Locations tab, use the "Sort by Duration" toggle to quickly find short-burst tasks for active play or long-duration quests for idling.
  • Automation: Once you unlock "Auto-Quest" abilities, you can toggle automatic task looping for characters. This only affects the primary (first) task slot. Quests in additional slots must be restarted manually.

Magic Capacity

  • Capacity: Watch your magic limits. Research "Magic Pocket" abilities to increase the amount of magic you can carry.
