## Story

Niko and his wife Elena are vacationing on a remote tropical island. A criminal cartel — led by a man who has spent 25 years trying to recover an artifact stolen from his family — attacks and seizes control of the island. Civilians are taken prisoner. Elena is killed.

Niko escapes into the jungle. While fleeing, he stumbles upon a hidden chamber and finds the box — the very artifact the cartel came to reclaim. It reacts to him. Power floods in.

Now Niko moves through the occupied paradise with three supernatural abilities and one goal: reach the man responsible. But as he hunts through cartel compounds and discovers fragments of the box's 25-year history, he realizes the leader knows what the box can do far better than he does.

**The central tension**: The leader came for the box because it's his family's. Niko has it. The more Niko uses it, the more the leader stops trying to capture him — and starts trying to destroy him.

### Design Risks
- The 30-second loop (telekinesis only, Act 1) must be fun in isolation — if throwing things isn't satisfying before phasing and mind control arrive, nothing downstream saves it.
- Mind control requires enemies complex enough to be interesting to control — underestimating the AI requirements here is the most likely design failure.
- The Rage State must feel different from normal play — if it's just a damage buff, it loses its narrative weight.

### Technical Risks
- Physics-based powers in 3D are the hardest possible first-game technical challenge. The MVP exists specifically to test whether this is buildable.
- Phasing through geometry requires careful collision and camera management — common source of bugs.
- Mind control AI (controlling enemy movement, making it feel deliberate and useful) is non-trivial.

- The "supernatural powers in a contained world" space is proven but competitive (Control, Dishonored). Differentiation must come from the emotional story, not just the powers.
