Kees is now at Health-RI (HRI), not anymore at LUMC. Should we adjust Marek and Jan from University of Prague to Codevence?

Hi @luizbonino , good point. I was wondering how to deal with these past affiliations.

Not sure what are the rules for this kind of publication. For journal publications it is typically the affiliation at the time the (bulk of) the work was done, as described e.g. in nature:

The primary affiliation for each author should be the institution where the majority of their work was done. If an author has subsequently moved, the current address may also be stated.

or science:

[...] relevant institutional affiliations where the work was performed. If an author has since changed institutions, this may be specified with a present address footnote. If the corresponding author has changed institutions since the work was performed, a present address footnote is required.

There are also some related discussions in the cff repo. For example from this comment:

[...]
(Note though that we have discussed the usefulness of adding past affiliations, and as CITATION.cff will always reflect a snapshot, past affiliations may not be relevant. However, they would be possible with entity.)

From this point of view it would make sense to update the affiliations like you proposed, except maybe for authors that are no longer active in this repo?

For upcoming cff version 1.3 it is easy, we can supply multiple affiliations as entity with optional start/end dates.
