Hello faitbeam, I was reading your code and I don't see any malware, however a person in my community had a problem: he was able to install the Widescreen patch and it worked but then his Avast antivirus detected it as dangerous and the game was deleted with its UserData included .
Then I analyzed the Widescreen patcher 3.9.0 executable in VirusTotal and indeed some antivirus engines detected it as dangerous and could damage the game.
I hope this information is useful to you, as well as the VirusTotal tool to diagnose problems.
Maybe it's a good idea to add warnings in the readme.
The problem was solved by adding the file to the antivirus exclusion list, but it will depend on each antivirus.
