Solution for figma-linux-font-helper not working in linux browser

Make sure the figma-linux-font-helper is installed before proceeding!

Do the following

Step 1: nano /home/username/.local/bin/omarchy-launch-figma

Step 2: Add the following in the omarchy-launch-figma: (Rename it accordingly if you want to)

--app=https://www.figma.com
--user-data-dir="$HOME/.config/chromium-figma"
--disable-features=PrivateNetworkAccessRespectPreflight
--user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/120.0.0.0 Safari/537.36"

Step 3: chmod +x /home/username/.local/bin/omarchy-launch-figma

Step 4: nano /home/username/.local/share/applications/figma.desktop

Step 5: Add the following in the figma.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Name=Figma
Comment=Figma (Omarchy Web App)
Exec=/home/username/.local/bin/omarchy-launch-figma
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Icon=/home/username/.local/share/applications/icons/Figma.jpg
Categories=Design;Graphics;
StartupWMClass=figma

Step 6: update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications

And finally launch your app from your Start or terminal.

Note : The below code is the actual solution to allow your browser to let the browser connect to the localhost of linux-font-helper.

Hi! This doesn't work for me. It's not able to connect (sadly). The service is running, and I made the shell script, and lunched chromium with it. I'm on Arch.

Have you tried using User-Agent Switcher (or similar to it) extension, and then switching to Windows? That works at least for me.

Can you share the files and directory you used to set this up? I’d like to take a look.

This worked for me after a bunch of trial and error tho on Fedora chromium seems to be installed as chromium-browser. Also no fonts are appearing? Not sure why

Check whether you've fonts present in these directories
"/usr/share/fonts" or "/home/USERNAME/.local/share/fonts"

if you want to change the font directory check out the ".config/figma-linux/settings.json"

I'm having troubles at spoofing the request headers. It keeps going back to Linux thus not being able to connect my fonthelper. Also I've been trying out different UA Agent Switcher and still no progress for nested webapp. Im confused because when I try to fingerprint my browser, it shows my spoofed UA but for figma request it is different
