+# TL;DR
+
+Due to increases in operational costs, Fire+ will be increased from `€5/mo` and `€40/yr` to `€8/mo` and `€60/yr` starting April 1st 2026 and affecting new subscriptions only
+
+# What's happening?
+
+With recent increases in the cost to run Fire, especially Hetzner increasing pricing for the first time while I've been a customer, I have made the decision to increase pricing for Fire+.
+
+I am already paying greatly out of pocket for costs associated with running Fire (current Fire+ subscriptions only cover about 20%) and cannot feasibly continue without making changes to help cover these if I wish to continue spending time working on it, using as much of my spare time as I can.
+
+Fire is a project that I've loved working on and the fact that it generates any revenue is still amazing to me and I appreciate each and every one of you that has decided to support the project. As it continues to grow & evolve from what was originally a private bot for my Minecraft server running within the Minecraft server itself then to a small bot made in Python and running a very basic setup under pm2 with one of the cheapest cloud servers from Hetzner and now a pretty sizable operation with multiple clusters & a full Kubernetes & GitOps setup making me feel like a proper sysadmin (even though half the time I don't know what I'm doing and turn to Google for help), the resources needed to provide feature-rich & responnsive services with great uptime grow too

+This is the first price increase I've had to do and I hope it's the last for a long time. Pricing changes do not come lightly and I have avoided it for as long as I could

+# How much will it be?
+
+The base price for Fire+ will be changing from `€5/mo` and `€40/yr` to `€8/mo` and `€60/yr`. If you opt for yearly billing, you will be paying for just under 8 months, rather than all 12, allowing you to save money while still greatly supporting the project.
+
+This change only applies to subscriptions via Stripe. The newly added support for Discord's monetization was introduced with the price increase already added

+# When will it change?
+
+The change will come into effect at some point on April 1st 2026, an exact time is not currently known.

+# Will my current subscription change?
+
+No. I've decided to keep existing subscriptions the same, at least for now, as a way of saying thank you for supporting Fire. Any subscriptions created before April 1st will be kept on the current pricing for the foreseeable future
+
+# Do I need to pay for Fire?
+
+Not at all! Fire will continue to be available for free with a limited number of features restricted to Fire+ subscribers only. I do not intend to stop development on Fire any time soon and will not be putting features behind a paywall just because I can (unlike some other bots, *cough* MEE6 *cough*)
