| For any company-related activities—such as travel, events, or off-site work—employees may spend up to **$70/day** using their [Brex](https://www.brex.com/) card **while traveling** to cover meals and minor incidental expenses. |

Is this USD? Can we be explicit?

I used the $ sign, same as in other places referencing amounts but can switch to USD if you think it'll be clearer
We recognize that developers will have slightly more demanding requirements for their laptops. As such, the following devices are recommended:
| Operating System | Recommended Device |
|------------------|--------------------|
| MacOS | MacBook Air 15" - 24 GB RAM (~$1,600 ex VAT) |
| Windows/Linux | Dell XPS 15 - 16 GB RAM (~$2,300) |

How did we arrive at the $70? Feels a bit arbitrary, and if it is; why not $50 or $100?

To be fair, it somewhat was arbitrary, $50 seemed too little and $100 too much

$70 felt enough to squeeze in some breakfast, lunch, a couple of coffees and transit fees in a single day from what i could figure from Hanover, it's not set in stone though

Couple of things;
- Travel shouldn't be included. Hannover travel for example, was much more expensive than $70, and travel or transportation that's required shouldn't come out of the per diem.
- A per diem like this doesn't supply enough for travel to SF, but too much for Hannover I think. Maybe go with $50 per diem for world wide, and $100 per diem in the USA?
- Let's use the reimbursement section below, instead of Brex -- we're moving away from a credit card per user.

In my mind travel was referring to local transportation not the means of getting on site.
For Hanover we were lucky to have public transport included with the event ticket, otherwise it would have bee a €5.5 per ride.
I feel like the the last phrase coupled with the starting paragraph from /#expenses are a catch-all when setting expectations on the per diem and we could skip complications of setting geographical limits

I mentioned these words before, better to have and not need than to need and not have, in my opinion it applies in this case as well, and at the end of the day we are all adults :)

| This is a **limit**, **not a target**. Use **common sense**: be reasonable, avoid unnecessary extras, **use public transport where practical**, and adjust for any meals already provided (e.g. at events or hotels). |
