Agent identity and authentication for multi-agent flows

Summary

Multi-agent flows need identity verification at each node. Without it, a compromised node can inject data into the pipeline.

AgentID provides cryptographic identity for AI agents — ECDSA P-256 certificates, Ed25519 key binding, verification API, trust scoring.

Proven:

• 3 ratified specs in the Agent Identity Working Group (QSP-1, DID Resolution, Entity Verification) — all unanimous
• Code merged into corpollc/qntm (encrypted relay protocol)
• Integrations: CrewAI, LangChain, MCP, OpenAI Agents SDK
• Registered issuer in the Open Agent Trust Registry
• Live on encrypted relay with cross-implementation conformance

Agent identity in Flowise flows is important — especially as Flowise is widely used for production agent deployments.

The AgentID certificate approach works for pairwise verification. For broader scenarios (cross-org flows, marketplace agents), a public identity registry adds value: agents can verify each other without pre-shared certs.

At HOL, we provide HCS-14 Universal Agent IDs registered on Hedera's consensus layer. Each agent gets a globally unique ID with:

• On-chain status — active, revoked, transferred (sub-3s propagation)
• Verified metadata — capabilities, endpoints, owner
• Cross-protocol bridging — maps to DIDs, A2A cards, ERC-8004

For Flowise, each node in a multi-agent flow could present a UAID that downstream nodes verify before accepting data. This is especially useful for community-contributed flow nodes where trust isn't pre-established.
