Thanks for raising this. The last few months have been quiet because development was paused due to some unexpected personal events, but before that, maintenance was more consistent. Regarding funding, the project is maintained voluntarily and relies on sponsorships and paid app sales on Google Play. This funding is not always consistent, but the project will continue to be maintained for the foreseeable future.
The website was recently redesigned and updated. Project announcements, progress updates, roadmap, etc., will be published there over time. |

While I don't yet have an Android (or perhaps more accurate to my intents, a GrapheneOS) device, the idea of using exclusively FOSS apps while on it is very appealing. And while Fossify seems like the natural way to go, I'm not sure how sustainable that would be, seeing as it's a bit difficult to get a grasp on the state of the project.
Since its inception, I don't see any blogposts on the website discussing roadmaps, progress, or setups for consistent funding and maintenance. Commits to the various repos seem pretty sporadic, with most that aren't by dependabot being submitted every month or so.
I'd really like to use Fossify when I get the chance, but before I can, is there a good description of what the "state of the project" is, and how the org intends to continue consistent work via a reliable funding model? I wouldn't want to have my core apps depend on exclusively volunteers, only because volunteer time is an incredibly volatile resource.
