System Specs:
Motherboard: MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64 bit Ver.2009 (OS build 26200.7840)
BIOS Version: 2.A91
BIOS Release Date: 09/09/2025
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Memory: 64 GB @ 2x 32 GB DDR5-6000, Kingston KF560C36-32 ( i also tried at jedec speeds -4800- , issue was still present)
Primary GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT(Sapphire Radeon 9070 XT Nitro+)
Secondary GPU: Intel(R) Arc(TM) B580 Graphics(Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition)
Drive: SSD, Samsung SSD 990 PRO 4TB
Powersupply: Corsair HX1500i
Issue Description
When the Intel Arc B580 is enabled in Device Manager (even if no application is using it), periodic frametime spikes occur in games.
The stutter:
• Happens in games(not only in games but sometimes after closing the game keeps stuttering on desktop)
• Occurs at consistent ~20 second intervals
• Continues indefinitely once it starts
• FPS remains stable
• Frametime graph shows sharp periodic spikes
• Completely disappears when the Intel GPU is disabled in Device Manager
The issue occurs even when:
• No encoding/decoding workloads are active on Intel
• The Intel GPU shows 0% usage
Reproduction Steps
1. Enable Intel Arc B580 in Device Manager
2. Launch any GPU-bound game (running on AMD GPU)
3. Observe frametime graph
4. Every ~20 seconds, a visible frametime spike occurs
Disable the Intel GPU → issue disappears immediately.
I tried to gather some info using latencymon;
Latencymon findings:
Highest DPC routine execution time:
219872 µs
Driver responsible:
amdkmdag.sys (AMD Radeon Kernel Mode Driver)
Extra info:
AMD RX 9070 XT running on x16 (gpu-z confirmed)
Also i want to mention that i used b580 as primary gpu for two months in the same exact PCIe slot(secondary) and never had stutter issues
