I am also experiencing problems with the new ROS version which causes eternal loop in reader thread.
I proposed PR with fix which seems to work #90

I don't have the Mikrotik documentation at hand, but I remember that they added a new response when returning an 'empty' (null or empty).

Sorry, I meant version 3.0.8 on mvnrepository. As there's no information about it here on github and it doesn't say anything on maven either, it's probably not trustworthy, right?

There is a PR to fix this problem, but it's still open.

The version currently in the mvn repository won't work correctly if the Mikrotik responds with "empty".
