Summary of Changes

Hello @serenaspace1485010-wq, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request initializes the foundational project setup for a new application. It establishes a monorepo architecture, designating a frontend workspace, and configures essential development scripts. Additionally, it sets up the necessary Vercel deployment configuration to correctly build and serve the Next.js application located within the frontend directory.

Highlights

  • Monorepo Setup: Added a new package.json file to establish a monorepo structure, defining a frontend workspace and configuring core development scripts to operate within this workspace.
  • Vercel Deployment Configuration: Introduced vercel.json to configure Vercel deployment, explicitly setting Next.js as the framework and specifying the frontend directory as the root for the application.

Code Review

This pull request sets up a monorepo structure using npm workspaces for a frontend Next.js application. It adds a root package.json to manage the workspace and a vercel.json to configure deployments on Vercel. The setup is mostly correct, but there's a redundant dependency in the root package.json that should be removed for better dependency management. On a general note, it is recommended to provide a more descriptive pull request title and body to clearly communicate the changes, which helps with code reviews and future project history.

The next dependency is redundant here as it's already defined in frontend/package.json. In a monorepo, dependencies should be kept as close to their usage as possible. Since next is a dependency of the frontend workspace, it should only be listed there. This avoids confusion and potential versioning issues. Please remove the dependencies section from this root package.json.
