Inputs go wild after clicking with mouse

I want to edit inputs like "Dimensions" when creating a new document with the keyboard (obviously).
However somehow my mouse movement is used to override the values... and is super hard to stop if i can stop it at all.
Can this "feature" be disabled completely?

Maybe I should add that this happens on Mac, in Safari 18.5.
