This is the biggest update to Green Software Patterns since the project launched. Version 2.0 introduces a completely redesigned website with two new ways to find and apply patterns, a clearer contribution process, and a full restructure of the pattern catalogue.

What's new

Browse by Software Lifecycle

Patterns are now organised by where they apply in the software development lifecycle — Requirements, Architecture, Development, and Operations — rather than the previous technology-based groupings (cloud, AI, web). Each category includes subcategories to help you drill down quickly.

Browse by Role

A new Personas section surfaces patterns based on your professional role. Whether you're a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Front-End Engineer, Solution Architect, or one of seven other roles, you'll find a curated view of the patterns most relevant to you.

Clearer contribution process

The [Propose a Pattern](https://patterns.greensoftware.foundation/contribute) page now explains what happens after you submit — the three review stages, expected timelines (approximately 5 weeks from submission to publication), and what to expect if a pattern doesn't progress. Submitting is easier than ever: just fill in the form and the team will take it from there.
