In preparation for submitting this to the Carpentries incubator, I've made some minor changes:

  • Expanded the readme with information about the lesson, and acknowledgement of original funding (the acknowledgements paragraph was provided by Dave Cash)
  • Updated the carpentries life cycle stage to beta as recommended by Toby Hodges (one of the Carpentries team)
  • As we want to keep this general to use at any institution I:
    • Removed a link to UCL-internal courses
    • Moved the UCL bioimage interest group lower in the list of talks / seminars, and added a link to the GloBIAS seminar series. The UCL seminars are still available to all for online attendance - so still good for it to be in this list.

Thank you!

Thank you for your pull request 😃

🤖 This automated message can help you check the rendered files in your submission for clarity. If you have any questions, please feel free to open an issue in {sandpaper}.

If you have files that automatically render output (e.g. R Markdown), then you should check for the following:

  • 🎯 correct output
  • 🖼️ correct figures
  • ❓ new warnings
  • ‼️ new errors

Rendered Changes

🔍 Inspect the changes: https://github.com/HealthBioscienceIDEAS/microscopy-novice/compare/md-outputs..md-outputs-PR-116

The following changes were observed in the rendered markdown documents:

 additional-resources.md | 11 +++++++----
 config.yaml             |  2 +-
 index.md                |  4 +---
 md5sum.txt              |  6 +++---
 4 files changed, 12 insertions(+), 11 deletions(-)
What does this mean?

If you have source files that require output and figures to be generated (e.g. R Markdown), then it is important to make sure the generated figures and output are reproducible.

This output provides a way for you to inspect the output in a diff-friendly manner so that it's easy to see the changes that occur due to new software versions or randomisation.

Looks good to me. Makes sense, links work.
