Do you need support for badges?

Also, do you need a customized .NET MAUI TabbedPage implemented with handlers, or could this be implemented as a custom ContentView?

As we can see, if a custom ContentView works for your use case and you don’t need badge support, you could currently use a workaround with MaterialSegmentedButton. You can set a custom item template in the ItemTemplate property with the layout of a tab bar item, following the Material guidelines.

At the moment, we don’t have this control in the short-term backlog. However, our idea is to explore adding it as a ContentView with an API very similar to MaterialSegmentedButton, leaving the tab content behavior to be handled by the developer, in the same way we currently do with MaterialNavigationDrawer.
