logarithmic scaling should default to base 10 - not Math.E

Why would it ever make sense to use base E when selecting tick marks when using logarithmic scaling!?
I think the default should be changed to 10.

Also: the number of decimal places should be reduced to a reasonable number - right now something like 20 decimal places are shown.
