How about adding an option like ONLY_GPU, as it's not convenient and not useful to install LAPACKE (if not available)?

Any way we can cut out legacy libraries with unstable ABIs is a win. I'm all for it.

In fact, if we detect cublas or related libraries we should not require blas/lapack.

Given that not all functions have a GPU implementation I do not think we can build a full library. Not a show stopper in itself, you get what you ask for.

Yes, that's the problem.

That's OK. If you ask for verification and we don't have BLAS/LAPACK we can error out.

Yeah, that can also be a workaround for now, although it takes quite a long time to install lapacke. Let me have a try.
