Support for HTJ2K Transfer Syntaxes in DICOMweb requests

Hi,

Is there a plan to support High Throughput JPEG 2000 (HTJ2K) in dicom-microscopy-viewer for DICOMweb retrieval?

Current behavior
At the moment, the viewer’s DICOMweb requests use an Accept header that explicitly lists several transfer syntaxes (e.g., JPEG-LS / JPEG 2000 JP2/JPX / JPEG), but it does not include HTJ2K transfer syntaxes:

• 1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.201 (HTJ2K Lossless)
• 1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.202 (HTJ2K)
• 1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.203 (HTJ2K Restricted)

From the ImagingDataCommons org side, there is no plan to add it. Our dev resources are extremely limited, and at the moment we have no data now or in the foreseeable future that uses this encoding.

There are several projects that rely on this package, most notably OHIF Viewer, and I will ask on OHIF community slack channel if they have any plans to support it.

If you are interested to contribute this support, please let us know and we are happy to consider, depending on the effort it will take to review and integrate.
