Fix README formatting and improve grammar

Context

Fixed markdown formatting inconsistencies in README.md:

• Removed stray code fence opening that was breaking the section rendering
• Converted HTML anchor tag to standard Markdown link format for consistency
• Improved grammar in the hiring section
