Let's use

        version:
          - '1.10'
          - '1'
          - 'pre'

in CI. This is quite a low-level package, I'd prefer not to track automatically track LTS, but decide when do drop the last LTS manually.

As part of this PR we could now finally make AbstractArrayOfSimilarArrays a subtype of Base.AbstractSlices (new in Julia v1.10). That was on the to-do list anyway.
