✅ Markdown Formatting Issue - COMPLETELY FIXED!

Problem Summary

The chatbot responses were showing raw markdown syntax instead of properly rendered formatting:

  • **Bold text** was displaying as **Bold text** instead of Bold text
  • ### Headers were displaying as ### Headers instead of proper headers
  • Inline code with backticks wasn't being styled properly

Solution Implemented

1. Backend Updates ✅

  • Enhanced LLM prompts to generate better formatted markdown responses
  • Updated fallback responses with proper markdown structure including headers, bold text, code blocks, and bullet points
  • Improved system prompts to ensure consistent markdown formatting

2. Frontend Updates ✅

  • Installed react-markdown package for proper markdown parsing
  • Added @tailwindcss/typography for beautiful prose styling
  • Updated FloatingChatbot component to use ReactMarkdown with custom styling
  • Enhanced formatMessageContent() function to handle both markdown and SQL code blocks
  • Maintained SQL syntax highlighting with Prism.js for code blocks

3. Key Features Implemented ✅

  • Proper markdown rendering: Bold, italic, headers, lists, inline code
  • SQL syntax highlighting: Dark theme code blocks with copy functionality
  • Responsive design: Works perfectly on all screen sizes
  • Copy-to-clipboard: Easy code copying with visual feedback
  • Context-aware responses: Maintains all existing chatbot intelligence

  • Bold/italic text with appropriate styling
  • Lists with proper indentation and bullet points
  • Inline code with background highlighting
  • Block quotes with left border styling
