Hi! I'm currently tracking the development of several open-source alternatives to Obsidian, including your project.
I'm starting a small community hub for FOSS Obsidian alternatives with the goal of improving visibility, discovery, and collaboration between these projects.
The idea is to create a lightweight ecosystem space composed of:
→ an SEO entry point for users searching Google for “Obsidian alternative”
awesome-foss-obsidian-alternatives→ a curated list of all active projects and their resources
→ a simple place for developers to discuss implementations and for users to discover projects
The main goal is to pool visibility so people looking for an open-source alternative to Obsidian can easily find the existing ecosystem.
Individually, many of these projects are small and difficult to discover.
Together, we can create a central entry point that helps:
The maintainer of Lokus has already expressed interest in joining this initiative.
Before building everything, I’m asking maintainers whether they think this kind of shared hub would be useful for their project.
If there’s interest, I’ll start setting it up and invite maintainers of other Obsidian-alternative projects to participate.
