May 2026 Release Checklist

This issue is to track tasks related to the May 2026 spec release:

• Merge any last-minute spec changes
  • remove the halfn vector type from the list of reserved data types #1548
  • clarify version requirements in the OpenCL C spec are for OpenCL C #1557
  • revert clGetEventInfo returning CL_COMPLETE is a sync point #1558
  • clarify description of any and all functions #1561
  • change log for v3.1.1 #1562
• Update OpenCL-Headers - update headers for OpenCL 3.1 OpenCL-Headers#303
• Update OpenCL ICD Loader - OpenCL ICD Loader updates for OpenCL 3.1 OpenCL-ICD-Loader#273
• Update OpenCL C++ bindings - C++ binding updates for OpenCL 3.1 OpenCL-CLHPP#340
• Merge any last-minute OpenCL-SDK fixes
• Update OpenCL-SDK submodules and project version - SDK updates for OpenCL 3.1 OpenCL-SDK#150
• Tag the spec sources - https://github.com/KhronosGroup/OpenCL-Docs/releases/tag/v3.1.0
• Build the specs and create an OpenCL-Registry PR to publish them - OpenCL 3.1 Specifications v3.1.0 OpenCL-Registry#180
  • Check that all new extensions have been added to the registry HTML
  • Check that all links work as expected
• Build the reference pages and create an OpenCL-Registry PR to publish them - update the OpenCL reference pages for v3.1.1 OpenCL-Registry#181
