                            <h1>“A World of Million different Abilities”</h1>
                            <br>
                            <p>India has a population of over a billion people, with a staggering 20 million of them physically challenged. While numerous NGO's cater to their specific needs and fight for their right to live a normal life, NSS and Sports Council BITS Pilani pitches in to give them their right to equality and normalcy.<br />
                            Junoon is a Sports cum social event, organized by the NSS and Sports Council of BITS Pilani, for specially abled children. By far, it is one of the most brilliant and moral initiatives that BITS has ever taken and an engineering college has ever experienced! It is an effort to prove that every human born on this earth bears the tag of being called as equal. It has taken upon itself to sensitize the next generation of potential leaders to the life of the specially abled.<br />
                            Making its debut last year on 2nd September 2012, the one day regional sports event witnessed over 110 specially abled children from Delhi, Jaipur and other towns of Rajasthan as proud participants. Boys and girls, 8 – 22 years old, coordinated by their respective NGO’s stepped foot on the BITS campus at Pilani. To name a few,Amla Birla Kendra (Pilani), Umang (Jaipur), Muskan (Delhi), Asha Ki Jharna (Jhunjhunu) and Akshay Pratishthan (Chirawa); all fighting for sporting glory, with many already having made their names in the Special Olympics. The extravaganza had exhilarating events such as sprints, Shot put, Softball , Boccee, Badminton and Basketball in which the kids from NGO teamed up with BITS Basketball team. The grand student audience realised that Junoon’s closing ceremony was no less than the valedictory ceremony of the BITS OPEN SPORTS MEET itself, in which the special children danced to the tunes of bollywood hits. Alongside them, the higher authorities of the institute, Vice Chancellor Prof B. N. Jain and Director Prof G. Raghurama and many more showed no less pride and passion.<br />
                            In a nut shell, Junoon 2012 was a resounding success. If not too much said, an act of brilliance for humanity itself.<br />
                            WE do not claim that we are going to redefine sports. But, in our own way, we intend to honor sports for all it stands, competition and chance.<br />
                            With a similar aim and much more enthusiasm, Junoon 2k13, scheduled to be held on 7th & 8th September 2013, promises to be bigger and better. Addition of new events, recreational activities and unified sports will take it to an all new level.<br />
                            Participation of new NGO`s from Delhi & Jaipur would add a different flavor to the event.</p>
