📄 Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 4, 2025

Thank you for using GitHub Stats — a Discord bot designed to provide GitHub data and analytics within your server. By inviting or using this bot, you agree to the following terms:

1. Usage

  • GitHub Stats is provided as-is for personal, educational, and community use.
  • You may not use the bot for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
  • We reserve the right to remove access or ban the bot from any server that violates Discord’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.

2. Data Collection

  • This bot uses the GitHub public API to retrieve and display information about users, repositories, and events.
  • No private GitHub data is accessed or stored.
  • The bot may temporarily cache public data in memory during command execution, but nothing is permanently stored.

3. GitHub API & Rate Limits

  • GitHub Stats relies on the GitHub API, which is subject to rate limiting.
  • If you use the bot frequently, it is recommended to provide your own GitHub token via environment variables to avoid hitting limits.
  • We are not responsible for rate-limit issues caused by overuse.

4. Availability

  • We make no guarantees of uptime or continued functionality.
  • Features may change, break, or be removed without prior notice.

5. Liability

  • We are not liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use of this bot.
  • All usage is at your own risk.

6. Changes to Terms

  • These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
