The S.T.A.R. Program (Symbolic–Topological–Arithmetic–Relativity) is an open scientific research project dedicated to advancing the frontiers of mathematical and theoretical physics through rigorous, reproducible, and collaborative inquiry. The following behaviors are considered unacceptable:
- Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation based on age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or any other personal characteristic
- Scientific misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism of results or ideas
- Intentionally disruptive or disrespectful behavior toward other contributors
- Public or private personal attacks
- Retaliation against individuals who report misconduct
As a scientific project, we maintain the highest standards of research ethics. Contributors must:
- Ensure all theoretical claims, computational results, and data analyses are accurate and reproducible
- Clearly distinguish between established results, conjectures, and preliminary findings
- Properly cite prior work and acknowledge contributions from others
- Avoid selective reporting or misrepresentation of results
- Disclose potential conflicts of interest when relevant
Violations of scientific integrity (such as data manipulation, plagiarism, or unfounded claims presented as proven) will be treated with particular seriousness and may result in immediate removal from the project.
Project maintainers are responsible for enforcing this Code of Conduct. They have the right to:
- Edit, remove, or reject contributions that violate these standards
- Issue warnings or temporary bans for repeated or serious violations
- Permanently ban individuals whose behavior is deemed incompatible with the project’s values
All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated fairly. Reports should be directed to the project maintainer(s) via GitHub private message or email.
This Code of Conduct applies to all project spaces, including GitHub repositories, issues, pull requests, discussions, Jupyter notebooks, documentation, and any official project-related communication channels.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant (version 2.1) and incorporates principles from established scientific codes of conduct (e.g., those of the American Physical Society and Committee on Publication Ethics).
