I've tried multiple times but to no avail.

hm this might already be fixed by the commits i pushed after this discussion is created, you may try to do this:

• put the device in dfu mode before running restore.sh
• in the main menu, select enter pwndfu mode
• hopefully finding device in dfu wouldnt time out from here

Were you ever able to fix it? because even with LukeZ answer, iphone 3GS, it says that "Failed to find device in DFU mode", even tho its been in DFU mode the whole time...
